I would suspect Altmaison – the evil, Frenchified twin of a formidable law blogger – if I didn’t know that it was Polybius complaining to Scipio that he had ignored all the signposts as they were trying to get back across the Triborough Bridge to Manhattan. At this point they were just outside Southampton. Some of the centurions were complaining: what happened so that Carthage was now north of Utica instead of south? why do the local maps show Rome as being in between them? what the hell is an Adirondack? and, it seems like a nice place, why don’t we just have our siege here in the Hamptons?
