Digby appears to be losing it. It/he/she does not seem to be “nailing it” with its usual gusto.

Here Digby merely “quotes an example” (talk about just rolling out of bed). Although later the Digby response is deemed “a good one.”
Here Digby “has a hell of a post up.” Well, apparently it/she/he has a hell of a time nailing it too. Because nailing it is specifically NOT mentioned.
Certainly it is nice that Digby is deemed to have taken the time to “explain things” here, however, that does not sound like nailing it to us.
Digby is described as “grumbling eloquently” here, but that’s really a half-assed way to say “Digby did NOT nail it this time.”

Well, he really isn’t nailing much of anything according to our poll. Plus Amanda is confusing everyone by referring to digby as a she, using the genderly sensitive “she” as the universal pronoun.
Hmm … let’s see now:

- Digby explained it like Ron Jeremy taping a money shot.
- Digby quoted it like a master carpenter framing a door.
Yeah, you’re right, that just doesn’t have the same ring to it. Digby must be losing his touch. Or her touch. Or its touch …
I’m not going to pile on. If Digby hasn’t earned the right to speak freely, no one has.
jex, Digby could hit like 500 bullseyes and the target 100%, but the key is to nail it. I wonder if something is up with Digby. We certainly don’t advocate shooting him with lasers. Because it is pretty clear that he has access to a laser nail gun.
Now, see, you can’t always just be nailing it. Sometimes you have to place the nail, sometimes you have to raise the hammer, and sometimes you have to pull back a rapidly purpling thumb under a growing cloud of profanity. “Nailing it” can therefore be seen as a process, and Digby’s simply at another point in the process than the mere moment of applying hammer to nail.
I think that tigrimus just nailed it like Digby would have nailed it if Digby was nailing his very own ability to nail it.
