You know, the batshit insane thing about this is, if they want to have a group that excludes somebody, that’s bad, but that’s the low end of the spectrum. But one thing in that article really gets me. They were complaining about how high school students can’t wear anti-gay t-shirts.
I mean, am I right that it’s one thing to have an exclusionary organization, and completely different to wear a t-shirt? When you’re in a meeting with the organization, it can be closed off and private, and then your views, retarded as they may be, can be discussed within this privacy.
But if you’re wearing a t-shirt that says “Eat It, Fairies!!1!!” Then you’re taking your opinion out and harassaing people with it, right?
There is a high School in NC that decided to ban the gay student club. I was really proud of the local news as I watched the story about it though. They said, “Well, the state law says that all student-run non-curricular organizations have to be given equal consideration. So that means this school will now have to shut down their honors society, the Key Club, the Junior Civitans, the Chess club, and all others.” (This coming from a TV station not far from where Tammy Faye Bakker still lives!)

I was so seething while reading the article the first time that I totally missed the facts that she was a woman and of Indian descent. I agree. As asylum workers, we must allow shit-smearers to continue smearing themselves, as long as they don’t start smearing their fellow patients. Considering the close quarters, it’s a delicate balancing act, especially because the smell bothers the other patients. But the alternative is worse. Let the shit-smearing continue.
Obviously only asylum workers are constrained to allow smearers to continue their act. If an employer wants to fire a smearer for smearing, that’s perfectly within the rights of the employer. Further, asylum workers should never be required to participate in the smearing.
It is not her indian descent which is going nuts in her head. It is the conservative christianity which is.
