Here’s a video song of the day- we’re gonna get SofTD up and running soon, but here’s some My Morning Jacket for you. The song is kind of emotional and soaring, reminds me a little of a maybe “One Tree Hill” by U2, but the shmaltz factor is not so high. I do remember loving that U2 song at one point. I probably still do. Also, people lump My Morning Jacket in with Southern Rock and Jam bands, and maybe that’s how they play live, but they just don’t fit either of those categories. Uncanny will claim that he will have hit his head on the keyboard because the video instantaneously put him to sleep.

That song is really good. I like MMJ live. I heard them open for Wilco during the arena tour, they always sound great and have alot of emotion. My issue is more with the listening repeatability of their music. I hear a song, and it’s fine, and I really have no specific desire or need to hear it again any time soon to get more out of it. I also think that Z is more interesting and diverse than It Still Moves.
They get lumped in those categories because so many of their concertgoers like to hit the chronic at their shows.
teh. I kind of picture them as your kind of dudes. I mean hair is not in short supply with those guys. The drummer is cartoonish in his mound of flesh and hair-ness.

Dick, Dick, Dick- their melody totally apes “One Tree Hill” and then, the way the guy just unleashes at the end, it’s very “One Tree Hill”- why not listen to the two songs next to one another. Come on, Three B. is serious about this stuff. We love “One Tree Hill” as much as the next sensitive dude with opaque memories from Junior High.
